Enviro Pro Tech is an Eligible Contractor for both the San Diego Solar Water Heating Pilot Program and the Palo Alto Solar Water Heating Program.
Enviro Pro Tech was also the first contractor to pass the program inspections in the Palo Alto Solar Hot Water Heating Program using active, closed looped systems in the customer’s homes.
These programs give residential customers up to $1500 and commercial and industrial owners up to $75,000 for installing a solar hot water system.
On October 12, 2007, Governor Schwarzenegger signed Assembly Bill 1470: The Solar Water Heating and Efficiency Act of 2007. The new law authorized the California Public Utilities Commission to develop a statewide Solar Hot Water incentive program funded by gas ratepayers, pending the outcome of a pilot program that the CPUC is currently running in San Diego.
Palo Alto’s program is intended to ensure effective and successful design and implementation of a solar water heating program in order to meet the goals described in the City’s Ten-Year Energy Efficiency Portfolio Plan and to fulfill the statutory requirements described in AB 1470.
Both programs are administered by The California Center For Sustainable Energy located in San Diego.
